Cathy Spitzenberger is a self-taught artist.  She was born in San Francisco and raised in the San Francisco bay area.  After several trips to Hawaii during her youth, at the age of 23 she moved to Hawaii, as she had grown to love the Hawaiian lifestyle.  After about five years, she decided to return to the San Francisco bay area to raise a family with her husband.  Then in 2003, with her children now adults, Cathy and her husband decided to return to the Hawaiian lifestyle that they so dearly love.  Over the past five years in Hawaii, she has explored many passions, but the most important passion to her is her bead work.  Cathy had a desire to make high quality jewelry to sell at affordable prices.  Realizing that she had the talent and drive to indulge herself into her artwork, she started the company, Ohana Beading Company.
